It is a historical fact there have been always been homeless veterans. Many were homeless after the Civil War, World War I, World War II and Korea. Probably at about the same percentage as we currently see.

Nearly two-thirds of the U.S. veterans seeking shelter in America's Rescue Missions served in Korea, Vietnam or the Persian Gulf, according to a nationwide survey released by the International Union of Gospel Missions (IUGM). Vietnam veterans account for 42 percent, followed by Korean War veterans with 10 percent and Gulf War vets with 10 percent.
