hen on any given night more than 250,000 veterans are on the street or in shelters, something is wrong. The Department of Veterans Affairs estimates that nearly 400,000 veterans will experience homelessness over the course of a year. Conservatively, one out of three homeless men and women has worn a uniform, and current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan are only going to make the problem worse. Why are first to answer the call of duty frequently the last to be served? Their voices need to be heard, their lives brought out of the shadows.
